Rankin Prepare for a Well Earnt Easter Break

09 April 2020

These past few weeks have been undeniably tough for the business and for our employees, their families and friends. Which is why we have made the decision to take an Easter break – we will close down at 4pm on Thursday 9th April and re-open at 8am on Monday 20th April.

As we seek to both protect our staff and to serve our customers, we have put a temporary staffing structure in place which seeks to safeguard the employment and incomes of all of our employees over the longer term.

Sales to the Beers, Wines & Spirits sectors have been hit hard by pub closures and restrictions on the movement of people – but, despite this, we as a company are determined to avoid redundancies.

We have furloughed some staff, and others are working reduced hours. Many team members have been resourced to work from home, and we’re running skeleton teams at our HQ Long Crendon and at the Plasmotec manufacturing site in Brackley.

We would like to take this time to thank each and every one of our team members as we’ve faced the coronavirus pandemic together with resolution, respect and fortitude.

Our Commercial Director, Jim Rankin, stated:

“I must applaud all of our staff and thank them for the sacrifices that they have made in order to protect our business and safeguard it for the long term. We have had to take some tough decisions, but our staff have worked tirelessly, getting stuck in and helping the business navigate its way through this crisis. I’m humbled by the commitment shown by our staff and I’m incredibly proud to be leading such a dedicated team through these worrying times. Despite the challenges that remain, we know that happier times are ahead, for us and for our customers. With help from the Governments Job Retention Scheme, and with the continued commitment of our staff, Rankin will remain open for business and we are here to support the Beers, Wines & Spirits sectors as best we can.”

Even though we will be taking a longer Easter break at our sites, we will continue to work tirelessly to support our customers through local supplier awareness campaigns. Keep your eyes peeled!
