Our response to COVID-19

09 April 2020

Today and in the months to come, businesses everywhere are facing challenging and unprecedented times. At Rankin, we want to keep you updated on our response to this crisis.

We can assure you that the safety and wellbeing of our employees, supply chain partners, customers and their families, are of paramount importance to us.

We also understand the pressures faced by our customers and the ability to do business, which is why we are working hard to avoid any disruptions to our service at this time.

Furthermore, we’d like to extend a helping hand to existing and new customers who may be in need of alternatives to their usual stoppers, due to factory closures or other supply chain interruptions. We retain good stock levels in our standard ranges and so can offer a secure supply of quality closures during this period of uncertainty.

Our supply chain is robust, and we have robust contingency plans that are tested regularly. Products continue to be shipped in and out of the countries in which we operate, and we are working diligently with our logistics partners to ensure capacity and movement.

While our production sites do remain operational, we are taking all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, implementing a Management Working Group to coordinate our response. These actions include:

  • A ban on customer and supplier visits
  • A travel ban
  • Travel and temperature screening of employees at some sites
  • A rigorous hygiene and cleaning schedule across all sites, including the increased use of disinfectant and hand sanitisers amongst other measures
  • Adhering to local government guidelines on social distancing and self-isolation

Where possible, we have also developed smart ways of working for our employees to work remotely and have instituted regular company reviews to assess the situation and address any concerns.

Rankin is carefully adhering to the advice issued by the UK government, along with the local governments of the countries in which we do business. As such, we may update or re-issue this statement in the future. Please be assured however, that any interruptions, both potential or actual, will be consistently and swiftly communicated to all affected customers.

From everyone in the Rankin family, we’d like to thank you for your continued support, and wish you well during these difficult times.
