Beer Barrel Spiles and Sundry Items

Beer barrel spiles are used to plug holes in the shive, and to allow controlled venting of excess carbon dioxide generated by the yeast in the beer during movement and transport. Soft, open-grained spiles made of softwood or bamboo or notched hard wood let you vent, dispense and manage beer quality inside the container, while hard spiles are much more durable and used for sealing the cask entirely while not working with it, and used to seal the cask when outside service to improve the beer’s shelf life. Clip Corks can be used to plug the keystone hole after dispense, preventing any residuals in the cask from spilling when the container is collected
